Once there was a snowman...

Joshua and Whitney were so excited to make a snowman when it snowed. One of their favourite books is "Snowballs" by Lois Ehlert. That's why Joshua wanted to name him "Snowball Dad"

Goin' Tobogganing

So we really don't have a toboggan. It's more of an inner tube. And it was on sale for $5 at Target and since we don't have room to store a toboggan or sled, we thought it was a good deal. I was so excited we finally had snow to play in I had to take pictures.

(By the way mom, if you want to see the pictures a little bigger, just click on the picture and it will pop up in another window full size)

Love Thy Neighbour (and Hockey)

Who loves their neighbour enough to take down the fence that divides their properties and build the biggest baddest backyard rink you'll ever see? Apparently two (I'm assuming men) in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. I'm having serious rink envy. Last weekend I went with the youth to the nearest rink (35 min away) for a skating activity. It was a blast. If I had a rink in my backyard like this, I'm positive Joshua (once he figured out the whole skating thing) would be out there everyday. Soon you'd be seeing a child prodigy like Sidney Crosby in the making and by age 17 Kevin Lowe would be calling me up begging me to sign Joshua on to the Edmonton Oilers to save the team and bring them back to Stanley Cup Champions. Sorry Kev, I live in Kansas. It doesn't stay cold enough here to have a rink all winter long. Maybe if Steve gets a job in Wisconsin, Minnesota, or...Canada, we could work out a deal. In the mean time, I'll just have to cheer my Oilers on by listening to them on the Internet. C'mon boys PLEASE make the playoffs. Even if it is eighth seed.
